Holiday Lights Still Up? Take Them Down Now for Safety

The first week of January is a good time to remove lights to eliminate the shock and fire dangers that come with keeping them up too long.

When removing holiday lights, the wiring should be carefully inspected and people should dispose of any with cracked, frayed or damaged insulation based on the manufacturer’s instructions.
